Terms of use
These terms cover use of the website and, in the second part, registering and working as a tutor. Please read them before you register or send an enquiry.
Last updated October 2026
Part 1: Using the website
The website helps students and parents find tutors and helps tutors present themselves. We are an introduction service. Lessons are agreed between the student or parent and the tutor.
What we do and do not promise
We review tutor applications before a profile is published, but a published profile is not a guarantee of any result, grade or admission. We cannot promise that a tutor is available at a given time, in a given place or at a given price. Please meet or speak with a tutor and, for young students, make sure a parent or guardian is involved.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- give false information or pretend to be someone else;
- send spam, advertising or repeated automated requests;
- upload files that contain malware or that you do not have the right to share;
- write a review about a lesson you did not take, or one that is abusive, defamatory or misleading;
- try to reach private areas, other people's data or the system's internals.
Reviews and reporting
Reviews are checked before they appear, and we may decline or remove a review that breaks these terms. Anyone can report a review or a profile that looks abusive, false or inappropriate; staff look at each report.
Part 2: Terms for tutors
These apply when you register as a tutor. By ticking the box in the application you confirm that you have read and accept them (the version shown in the application).
Your application and profile
- You are 18 or older and the information you give is true, complete and about you.
- The qualifications, experience and achievements you list are real. Staff may ask for documents and may contact the institution to check them. A false claim is a reason to reject or remove a profile.
- You tell us promptly if something material changes, such as a qualification, the places you serve or whether you are available.
- We may approve, ask for changes, reject, suspend or archive an application or profile. We will give a reason where we can.
What you publish and what stays private
You agree that the name, photograph, biography, qualifications, experience, subjects, boards, languages, places and tuition modes you enter may be shown publicly once your profile is approved. Your legal name, contact details, address, emergency contact and documents stay private and are used only to review and manage your application, as described in the privacy notice.
Only upload a photograph and documents you have the right to use.
How you work with students
- Be honest about your subjects, levels and availability and turn up on time or give notice.
- Treat students and families with respect and keep their information confidential.
- Agree fees and arrangements directly with the family and be clear about them. We do not set your fees.
- Follow the law and the rules of your own school or employer where they apply to private tuition.
Ending
You can withdraw your application or ask us to remove your profile at any time. We may suspend or remove a profile if these terms are broken, a serious complaint is upheld or we can no longer verify the information on it.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. A change to the tutor terms gets a new version number and we will ask registered tutors to accept it. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
